In general Asylum Seekers do not have the right to work or benefits in the UK but those who are accepted as refugees can seek employment once they have registered for a NI (National insurance) number.

Preston Vocational Centre run by Community Gateway Housing have been very helpful in getting refugees into practical skills training – all free of charge.
